Don’t you think the Swiss are onto something?
Personally I hate sitting (or should I say sleeping) through PowerPoint presentations. The presenters invariably have bullet points akin to short stories.
Often they use those strange stick men and pieces of jigsaw puzzle because they were once told their slides needed illustrations.
I’m sorry to say I’ve used these Clip Art images like these in the past.
And then worst of all they proceed to read every word on the slide in a dull monotone!
I know PowerPoint is only a tool, but its misuse seems gets in the way of effective communication.
Since leaving the corporate world I have rarely used PowerPoint – hurrah! I have only used PowerPoint when suppliers have asked me to present what we do at Ziptech to large audiences. They always insist on a PowerPoint presentation.
With our own customers and prospects I have never used PowerPoint. I prefer to have more interactive meetings rather than a canned presentation.
The Swiss want to ban PowerPoint
Apparently there is a movement in Switzerland that is trying to ban the use of PowerPoint. Sounds like a great idea to me.
Who says the Swiss are boring. It’s quite a radical idea.
