My name is Alan James and I formed Alan James and Co 21 years ago. We are a firm of chartered accountants and registered auditors and we operate from our premises in Chertsey.
Our staff compliment of 13 and our client compliment around about twelve hindered. We are looking to expand and have got office space which will allow us to grow.
When I first began I was a one man band and I started as a sole trader. I very much relied upon contacts and calling in favours from friends when I had computer issues.
We got to the size when we had a small server operation in place and my partner was operating that which wasn’t a particularly good use of his time – he is an accountant not an IT person. We saw 2 other businesses and the one that we chose was Ziptech.
We have been very pleased with Ziptech, the response time is fantastic. For us to have computers down is a complete waste of time and money therefore the least time we have between issues arising and them being resolved the better.
The services that Ziptech provide for us its telephone support, its assistance, we have the red zed call button on all of our computers and that works very very well.
We moved office six months ago and the computers went down 9:30 on Friday morning. By 12:30 the phones were back up, and by 3:30 the computers were back up. Like a military operation. I have recommended Ziptech to contacts that we have and to clients in fact.
The more units, the more desks we take on that represents another call to Ziptech to say “put this person onto the network” and so we will work with them on that.
We see a long term relationship with Ziptech.
